The Background

Casa Italian is a high-quality restaurant and bar specialising in authentic Italian cuisine and seafood. Its open plan dining space gives a sense of elegance and style in keeping with the fayre of its award-winning chefs. The eatery recently benefited from a £200,000 investment in ensuring that it would become one of the finest in the City.

The Task

The venue that now houses Casa Italian was previously an Indian restaurant decorated in a distinctively South Asian style. When the current owners took possession a change of culinary origin demanded a change in décor more in-line with the food and service offering. Having already fitted out sister restaurant Venizia, owners called in Contract Furniture Group to carry out all necessary works.

 

The revamp would include loose and fixed furniture for both inside and outside areas, as well as numerous special installations that would give the eatery a unique proposition in a crowded and competitive market.

The Work

The project started with an interior design consultancy service covering ergonomic, aesthetic and practical considerations. We sourced striking fabrics to fit the agreed visual theme, and an authentic looking artificial olive tree to be the centre piece of the restaurant. We created bespoke fixed seating units to be placed to make the most of available space while affording guests the chance to enjoy the general ambiance while at the same time having privacy.

 

Diners seated at individual tables inside were given support and comfort in equal measure by stylish Monica and Tea Hole side chairs upholstered in Sunbury Nappa suede, with laminate tops finished in Egger Lancaster Oak and Sienna bases completing the look. Outside we used Lens side chairs, tables and patio heaters to create a pavement terrace for use when weather permitted.

 

Other works included new signage, awnings, cladding, lighting, work tops, mirrors, shelving, painting and ceiling renovations.

Casa Italian now looks and feels like exactly what it is – a high class eatery in the heart of the city. It boasts luxurious surroundings with a fresh look in an outstanding venue. It offers a truly magnificent dining experience with award-winning chefs and serving staff paying attention to every detail – just as we did during its creation.
