The Background
The Falcon is a hotel, restaurant, and wellbeing retreat into the rural Northamptonshire countryside. The coaching inn was originally built in 1594, and has recently been thoughtfully restored to offer rest and renewal to its guests. The refurbishment took four years, with interiors designed by Jackie Blakey.
The Task
The overall aim of the project was to provide tranquil décor and cosy furnishings for guests to relax in. The twenty bedrooms and multiple dining areas also needed rejuvenating to ensure the super comfortable beds were complemented by natural fabrics, textures and features designed so that the surrounding nature was reflected within. The existing furniture, soft furnishings and case goods were all dated and worn out, so needed to be replaced.
The Work
Working closely with the designer, our soft furnishings team sourced a wide variety of materials to bring their vision to life, subsequently creating made to measure curtains, fluted headboards, cushions, bed throws, roller blinds from fabrics by Vanessa Abuthnott. These were expertly fitted and placed by dedicated Contract Furniture Group installers to make sure the quality of the products was matched with the precision of the finishing.
Lounge furniture consisted of Reno, Richard & Jeff Sofas; Brierly Tubs, Coral Lounges and Moderna Armchairs in various shade of Panaz Highland, C&C Nantucket and Sunbury Kelper. Case goods include Tall Boys and Wardrobes in Egger Grey Santa Fe, and tables were Jens, Anton and Axel Side Gull Coffee, Filip Dining Table. Deliveries were completed with Arkan Side Chairs in brown leather and Ambrosia Side Chairs in Skopos Marmotte Dream or C&C Nantucket Denim.
The Result
Guests at The Falcon can now become completely immersed in their experience at the hotel, restaurant and wellbeing retreat. An abundance of natural materials including stone, wood, leather, wool are found in an array of fabrics and textures that cocoon and comfort guests as they enjoy a restful stay.
