Our sustainability practices
As an active member of Commercial Interiors UK, the Contract Furniture Group is part of an ongoing initiative of continuous improvement in-line with the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP). We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and wider environmental impact through various schemes, including the use of electric vehicles and low-energy manufacturing methods.
At our primary UK manufacturing site, we have a highly efficient biomass burner, which enables us to dispose of our wood waste by burning 100% of our wood in a sustainable way, which is a cleaner energy process that also reduces waste disposal costs and fuel miles.
We are committed to leading the industry in minimising the impact of its activities on the environment
All of the beech and oak used in our furniture frames also comes from sustainable sources. We also offer the option to choose recycled foams, fillings and fabrics during the specification process so we can work within the parameters of your own environmental policies.
The key points of our sustainability practices are:
Meet and, where possible, exceed all current and future European and national environmental legislative and regulatory requirements.
Adopt best operational practices to reduce the environmental impacts of CFG Ltd activities and policies.
Monitor, manage and minimise CFG Ltd's use of energy and water.
Minimise the environmental impact of associated travel with our venues and business.
Minimise the amount of waste produced by Contract Furniture Group Ltd and partners to encourage greater reuse in recycling.
