The Background
As part of Warner Hotels’ extensive refurbishment of Thoresby Hall, the spa was considered a key part of the guest experience. A complete wellness destination designed to offer relaxation, comfort and luxury within the setting of a historic country estate.
The wider site refurbishment sought to position Thoresby Hall firmly within Warner Hotels’ premium Reserve collection, with every area of the hotel carefully considered to deliver a more elevated standard of hospitality. Within this vision, the spa needed to feel cohesive, combining practical durability with a calm, design-led aesthetic across a variety of zones, from reception and treatment areas to poolside, relaxation and outdoor spaces.

The Task
Contract Furniture Group was appointed to supply loose furniture throughout the spa, supporting a project that required both specialist sourcing and bespoke solutions. Working alongside Design Coalition, Contract Furniture Group was tasked with helping deliver a furniture package that would support the visual identity of the spa while also meeting the practical requirements of a wellness environment.
The brief covered multiple areas, including the reception, manicure area, poolside, treatment rooms, relaxation spaces and exterior areas. Many of the pieces specified were outside standard hospitality ranges, requiring a flexible and service-led approach to sourcing, manufacturing and upholstery in order to meet the desired look and feel.

The Work
To bring the spa concept to life, Contract Furniture Group supplied a diverse furniture scheme tailored to the needs of each individual zone.
Furniture supplied included:
- Sculptural relax loungers designed to follow the natural curves of the body, upholstered in Sunbury Lana velvet with a chestnut polish
- Matching lounge chairs with a rounded base cushion and open structured back
- Pannacotta Side Chairs upholstered in Hawaii Subtle
- Joy Side Chairs upholstered in Watson Salmon for the relaxation area
- Brooklyn Manhattan Swivel Chairs in tan Crest leather with a black frame for reception
- Hackney recycled polypropylene chairs in light green for the poolside and sauna area
- Bespoke sun loungers with natural wooden frames, upholstered in Bali Alto by Sunbury, chosen for its weather-resistant properties and suitability for both indoor and outdoor use
- Round concrete side tables with a sculptural pedestal form, vertical ridge detailing and a warm cream finish
- Marble Crystal Side Tables with chestnut timber edging and legs
- Upholstered footstools in complementary fabrics and finishes

For the outdoor area, Contract Furniture Group also supplied:
- Additional sun loungers
- Matching sculptural cream side tables
- Larger black versions of the same table design
- A teak backless bench
The spa scheme required a high level of attention to detail, not only in selecting and supplying the right models, but in ensuring the materials, finishes and upholstery were suitable for the performance demands of each environment. This involved going beyond standard product ranges to source unusual, design-led pieces that aligned closely with the original specification.

The Result
The completed spa at Thoresby Hall delivers a calm, luxurious and fully considered wellness setting, with each zone supported by furniture that enhances both comfort and visual identity.

For Contract Furniture Group, this part of the project highlights the company’s ability to manage highly tailored hospitality schemes that require more than just off-the-shelf supply. Through specialist sourcing, bespoke manufacture and close attention to fabric and finish selection, the spa became a strong example of how design-led furniture solutions can help shape a premium guest experience across multiple spaces.
