The Background
Thoresby Hall Hotel, a historic estate in Nottinghamshire, has recently become part of the exclusive Reserve by Warner Hotels collection, which is a carefully curated group of adult-only destinations designed to offer luxury, indulgence and timeless comfort. To bring the property in line with the elevated standard of the Reserve portfolio, Warner Hotels embarked on a major refurbishment programme beginning in 2025.
As part of this wider transformation, the interiors at Thoresby Hall were reimagined to balance the grandeur of the building’s heritage with a more refined and contemporary guest experience. Within this vision, The Blue Room was designed to offer an elegant dining setting that felt both sophisticated and inviting, with furniture and joinery playing a central role in defining the character of the space.

The Task
Contract Furniture Group was appointed as part of the wider refurbishment team to support the delivery of selected public spaces across the hotel, including The Blue Room. Working alongside Design Coalition, Contract Furniture Group was tasked with bringing a key feature of the space to life through bespoke joinery and carefully considered detailing.
The brief called for a standout seating solution that would enhance the guest experience, complement the room’s historic architecture, and support the operational needs of a busy hospitality environment. As with the wider project, the work was delivered to a demanding schedule, requiring a considered and responsive approach from design through to manufacture.

The Work
At the centre of The Blue Room, Contract Furniture Group manufactured a striking, standalone fixed seating installation that became one of the most distinctive focal points within the room.
Designed to echo the elegance of the wider interior, the seating introduced a sophisticated vintage feel through a series of semi-private booth-style banquettes. The fluted backs were upholstered in Sekers Palazzo in Ocean, a rich blue-teal fabric that added depth and luxury to the scheme while reinforcing the room’s refined palette.
To further define the seating areas, low white partition panels were incorporated between each section, giving structure to the layout without interrupting the openness of the space. Above the seating, reeded glass panels framed in white were integrated with warm lighting, creating a soft glow along the backs of the banquettes and adding atmosphere to the overall dining experience.
Manufactured in Contract Furniture Group’s Nottingham workshop, the installation demonstrated the company’s ability to deliver bespoke joinery with both technical precision and design sensitivity.

Complementing the fixed seating, a range of laminate table tops were supplied in a White Crystal marble finish with a refined gold edging, in both round and square formats. These were paired with Zeus table bases, selected for their durability and design compatibility. Finished in a heavy-duty matte black stainless steel with bold contrasting gold detailing, the bases were chosen to echo the gold accents of the table tops, creating a cohesive and polished overall look.
In addition to the main seating feature, Contract Furniture Group also manufactured a waiter station, finished in Deluxe French Grey with a zinc laminate top, designed to sit seamlessly within the room’s wider scheme.
The Result
The finished Blue Room captures the balance that Warner Hotels set out to achieve across Thoresby Hall , preserving the elegance of a historic property while introducing a fresh sense of comfort, style and usability.

For Contract Furniture Group, this space stands as a strong example of how bespoke joinery can transform a hospitality interior. Through careful detailing, quality craftsmanship and close collaboration with the design team, The Blue Room became a refined dining environment with a standout central feature that enhances both the aesthetic and functional value of the space.
