Skilled Contract Manager - Fit-Out (Hospitality/Retail Sector)

About the Role: We are a specialist fit-out company delivering high-quality interiors across the hospitality and retail sectors. Our projects include hotels, restaurants, bars, and retail spaces — all completed to the highest standards, on time and on budget.

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a well-rounded Contract Manager to join our team. This is a key role for someone with strong project delivery skills, backed by solid commercial awareness, who can take ownership of complex fit-out projects from start to finish.

We’re looking for someone who can do more than just manage contracts — we want a true project leader. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing fast-paced fit-out projects, particularly within hospitality or retail, and be confident in both the operational and financial aspects of project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks.

• Lead multiple fit-out projects from pre-construction to handover

• Manage project programmes, resourcing, subcontractors, site teams, and suppliers

• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams

• Monitor project costs, cash flow, and profitability, ensuring strict budget control

• Review and negotiate contracts, manage variations, and ensure commercial compliance

• Drive site progress and quality standards through regular visits and reporting

• Ensure procurement schedules are aligned with project needs

• Uphold health & safety standards and ensure statutory compliance throughout

 

What We’re Looking For :

We’re looking for a well-rounded individual who can seamlessly combine technical project management expertise with strong commercial acumen. You’ll be confident, collaborative, and solutions-focused — someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and makes smart, proactive decisions.

 

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Significant experience as a Contract or Project Manager in the fit-out sector, ideally within hospitality and/or retail/shop fit-outs

• Strong understanding of construction contracts, commercial frameworks, and procurement

• Financially astute – capable of managing budgets, valuations, variations, and cost reporting

• Familiarity with ERP systems; Sage X3 experience is a strong advantage

• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

• A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to manage detail without losing sight of the big picture

• Full UK driving licence

 

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
